Sonnet 6: ResolutionMy friends, they are but shadows, gone. When I Need help, theyre nowhere found. In trust I speak, Confide: I tell them secrets, all of mine. And yet to me they give but comfort weak. Perhaps tis well I would not care as much But Lord, dispassion, no! its not in me. Or better yet I should forgive, begrudge Them not: I wish I could, what sweet release. On pausing here, my mind conceives a thought Of which resolves my heart. Oh rather feel! Sonnet 5From where could this apostrophe of hateSonnet 5
Have sprung? A patriot doesn't for kin have love
But rather spite for those outside his gate!
Forgot to bite this hand which fits the glove
Barbaric, now we've found our neighbors there,
A-glare, irate, for we've regressed to tribes.
Our feast of allies gone, our plates now bare,

The snow falls gently, blaze in hearth does warm.
